Terms of service
These Terms govern your use of the website autobiographai.com and of the Autobiographai application (the "Service") operated by ANONYME.IO. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Publisher and definitions
The Service is operated by ANONYME.IO, SAS (Société par Actions Simplifiée), with share capital of €30,000, registered under RCS Paris 898 463 559, with its registered office at 6 Place Léon Blum, 75011 Paris, France (the "Publisher", "we", "us").
"User" or "you" means any natural person who creates an account or otherwise uses the Service. "Content" means any data, text, answer, biography draft, comic or other material generated, uploaded or transmitted through the Service.
2. Description of the Service
Autobiographai is an online assistant designed to help users write their autobiography, decade by decade, through a guided interview powered by artificial intelligence. The Service includes:
- An interactive questionnaire that prompts the User to share memories by decade.
- An AI biographer that asks follow-up questions and assembles the answers into a written biography.
- An illustrated comic version of the biography for sharing.
- Optional testimony links allowing loved ones to contribute memories.
- Lifetime access to the User’s account, biography and exports.
- A one-time purchase option to gift the Service to one or more recipients.
The Service is informational and creative in nature. It is not a therapeutic, medical or emergency service. In case of personal emergency, please contact your local emergency number (112 in the European Union, 911 in the United States).
3. Eligibility and account creation
The Service is open to natural persons aged 15 or above. Users under 18 must obtain prior authorisation from a parent or legal guardian; the Publisher reserves the right to request written proof of such authorisation and to delete any account created in breach of this clause.
To create an account, the User provides an email address, a password and, optionally, a display name and year of birth. The User undertakes to provide accurate information and to keep their credentials confidential. Passwords should be changed at least once every twelve (12) months. The User is responsible for any activity carried out under their account.
4. User obligations
You undertake to use the Service in good faith. In particular, you agree not to:
- Upload or transmit content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, hateful, harassing or that violates the privacy or dignity of any third party;
- Attempt to circumvent the Service’s security measures, reverse engineer or scrape its content, or extract its databases beyond strictly personal use;
- Submit prompts or inputs intended to generate content that violates applicable law or the policies of our AI sub-processors;
- Use the Service to impersonate another person without their consent, including a deceased relative, without proper authority;
- Resell or sub-license access to the Service or its outputs without our prior written consent.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that breaches these obligations, without compensation and without prejudice to any damages we may claim.
5. Intellectual property
5.1 Our rights
The Service, including its software, design, branding, illustrations, default questions, prompt templates and documentation, is the exclusive property of ANONYME.IO and is protected under intellectual property law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the Service for your own private purposes, for the duration of your account.
5.2 Your Content
You retain all rights in the personal Content you submit to the Service (your answers, testimonies, photos and the resulting biography). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, format, illustrate and display your Content strictly for the purpose of operating the Service for you and delivering the outputs you request. We do not use your Content to train third-party AI models.
6. AI-generated outputs
The written biography and illustrated comic produced by the Service are generated using artificial intelligence based on your answers. While we take reasonable care to provide a coherent and faithful result, AI outputs may contain inaccuracies, omissions or stylistic choices that do not perfectly match your intention. You remain in full control: you may edit, regenerate or delete any part of your biography at any time before final export.
7. Pricing, payment and refund
7.1 Pricing
The Service is offered as a one-time purchase granting lifetime access for one User. A separate gift pack allows the buyer to offer the Service to one or several recipients. Current prices are displayed on the Service and confirmed before payment. Prices include or exclude tax as indicated at checkout, depending on the buyer’s country.
7.2 Payment
Payments are processed by our payment provider Stripe, Inc. We do not store full card numbers. By placing an order, you authorise the corresponding charge.
7.3 Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)
In accordance with Article L221-18 of the French Consumer Code, EU consumers have a period of fourteen (14) days from the date of purchase to withdraw from the contract, without giving any reason. To exercise this right, please send a clear statement to hello@autobiographai.com.
In accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal is lost once the delivery of digital content (including the AI-generated biography or exports) has begun with your prior express consent. We will collect that express consent at checkout. If you have not yet started your interview or requested any AI generation, your full right of withdrawal remains intact during the 14-day window.
7.4 Satisfaction
Beyond the statutory right of withdrawal, we may, at our sole discretion, grant goodwill refunds to Users who report a material defect in the Service. Refund requests must be submitted in writing to hello@autobiographai.com.
8. Availability and force majeure
We strive to keep the Service available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may suspend the Service for maintenance, security updates or upstream provider incidents. Our obligations are suspended in the event of force majeure as defined under French law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the amount paid by you for the Service during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including loss of data, loss of profits or loss of opportunity.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be lawfully excluded.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the Service settings. Upon deletion, your Content is retained for thirty (30) days to allow export, then permanently erased, except for data we are required to keep by law (e.g. billing records). We may suspend or terminate your account in case of material breach of these Terms, after notice when reasonably possible.
11. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service, the law or our practices. We will notify active Users by email at least thirty (30) days before any material change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Personal data
Processing of personal data is described in our Privacy policy.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to the formation, interpretation, performance or termination of these Terms shall, after a prior attempt at amicable resolution, fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France, regardless of the User’s place of residence.
Consumers may also refer the dispute to the European Online Dispute Resolution platform available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
14. Contact
For any question about these Terms, please contact us at hello@autobiographai.com.
